A Note to Readers (Please Read!)

Dear all of my lovely readers,

I have been blogging for about a month and a half now. I'm falling in love with it even more every single day. Part of why I started this blog was to help foster discussion about feminist issues. And there has been some great discussion going on! And I have gotten some great feedback from other bloggers who I greatly respect, so thank you for that.

But I have a couple of favors to ask you, my readers. I want to make Adventures of a Young Feminist a place that you enjoy coming to to read about feminism and pop culture, so I would really appreciate your input!

First of all, I know you are all out there, but some of you seem to be hiding. Comments have been increasing recently, which I really appreciate. And there have been some great discussions on some of my posts. But in order to foster discussion, people have to participate. So to all of you readers out there who are hiding in the background, don't be afraid to comment! I try to respond to most comments and I love to hear what other people are thinking about a topic, even if they disagree with me! So if you agree or disagree, or you think I missed something, let me know!

Second, I am thinking of starting some more regular series or weekly features. I have some ideas in the works that I will let you know about later. But what I would like to know now is if that is something you would be interested in reading. So far, I have the series "Breast Implications" where I look at cultural representations and (in)visibility of breasts and the implications those have on women's relationships with their breasts. I have the weekly feature "This Week in Blogs" where I link to some of my favorite blog posts of the week. But I am thinking of starting some more, maybe a "Movie Monday," or something along those lines. Any thoughts? Would you be interested in reading more series or weekly features?

Third, if you have any ideas for topics or things you would like me to comment on, don't be afraid to contact me through twitter or email with ideas or links. I am always looking for inspiration in new places, so let me know if there is anything you would like to see on this blog.

And finally, I just want to make it clear that I have an open cross-posting policy. If you have a post or an idea for a post that you think is relevant to this blog, send it to me and I will do my best to post it. This would be another great technique for fostering discussion, so let me know if there is anything you would like to cross-post on my blog.

I know this is a lot to ask of you as readers, some of you who may be passive readers (people who read but don't participate in the discussion, which is fine, but I'm asking you to take that next step!). But I am always looking for ways to make this blog better and I would like your input for that since you are the ones who are reading it.
